let's have a drink! Some mulled wine perhaps?

Red wine (a dry red or chianti is good)
125g of caster sugar
Lemon peel
3 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Place the caster sugar and the peel of one lemon into a large saucepan. Add cloves, cinnamon stick and grated nutmeg.
Add just enough red wine to cover the sugar 
and simmer until all the sugar has dissolved.
Bring the mixture to the boil for 
a few minutes, then reduce heat to low. Add the rest of the bottle of wine 
and heat gently until hot, but not boiling.
Strain before serving.
