Weekend Wrap-Up

I was jonesin' for some r&r this weekend, and that's just what I got.

The weekend kicked off with a girls dinner at Barbacco (I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice, relatively reasonable, "cool" spot to grab a bite) followed by a drink at it's upscale sister restaurant Perbacco. Then it was home to bed.

Saturday started out really lazy. The hubs and I lounged around our sunny apartment listening to NPR (while the hubs watched college football - on mute - oh compromises). Then ... I met up with my dear friend, Di, we got tattoos followed by a wine and pizza double date with our hubbies. (Yep, tats! More on that in a sec.) Sunday was also lazy, another lounge-y day with my man, but I did manage to run my errands, have a nice long phone chat with my sweet Christine, go on a long walk, and meet up with my gal, Mer, for an early evening mani-pedi-decaf-coffee date. Wild!

So ... the tat. This cute little heart is my third tattoo. It was rather impulsive, but I totally love it. For the last six years, Di has been my rock and my shelter. She has been there for me in ways I never could have imagined. She is sincere, smart, brave, kind, and funny - I am very lucky to have her in my life. And ... she's moving ... to LA. :-P

The big move is at the end of the month, and was the impetus for the tattoos. I'm not happy that she and her hubby (who is one of the hubs' closest friends) are moving, but I'm trying to look at the positives. I have a lot of loved ones in LA, so now I have even more motivation to get my butt down there. Plus, it's a totally great opportunity for them, so at the end of the day, I am excited for them. It's not the end of our friendship, just the start of a new chapter. I guess we're just growing up some more...
