How long is long enough to know, you know, to know if someone is the one? The hubs and I were together for almost seven years before we took the plunge into marriage, but I think we knew well before that we were each other's someone. Although, I have to admit that I did get totally impatient there for a while, but looking back I'm glad we waited the time we did. We had time to change and stretch within the relationship, time to finish growing up, and time to really know. But we also got together when we were 21, so ... we needed that time. Our brains weren't even finished developing at that point - which I personally feel should be a requirement before getting married. If we had met at 31 I'm sure it would have been a different (much shorter) story. But no matter when you met that someone, I think it's important not to rush it. You have to trust that it will all happen organically, in it's own time. Easier said than done, right?
