(Hanukkah) Weekend Wrap Up

Monday, December 10, 2012

Oh weekend, you come and go so quickly. Such a tease!

Saturday night was the first night of Hanukkah. The hubs and I opened gifts from my thoughtful mother in law, had challah, and lit our menorah. I am slowly but surely learning the traditional prayer (sung while lighting the menorah candles) in Hebrew. Which basically entails the hubs singing real. slow. while I join in where I know the words; it'a a process. :-)

Other highlights included dinner with some of my best girls at this swanky spot (I had the steak tartar, and a French 75 - amaze), followed by a quirky ("Donner Party" themed) holiday party at another fun friend's place. There were red cups full of bubbles, dancing divas in the living room, and hushed conversations in dimly lit corners - it's hard to beat a good house party. Sunday was quite by comparison. The hubs watched football and played video games, while I met up with my dear friend Di for mani-pedi's, frozen yogurt, and yet another trip to Trader Joe's - my home away from home.

How was your weekend? I'd love to hear!

PS: Last year's Hanukkah post, modern menorahs, and a latke recipe I'm itching to try.
