Hair of the Dog. Since some of us may still be recovering from the NYE revelry, I thought I'd share some Bloddy Marry recipes that poped into my inbox courtesy of Goop.  You can read the complete hangover cure post here

The Classic :

The original Bloody Mary, or Red Snapper, as it's called at the St. Regis in New York, was originally concocted at the King Cole Bar in 1934 by bartender Fernand Petiot. Today it's a brunch time staple all over the world. Recipe as follows:
Makes 1 cocktail
  • 1 oz. Belvedere vodka
  • 2 oz. Tomato juice
  • 1 dash lemon juice
  • 2 dashes salt
  • 2 dashes black pepper
  • 2 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 3 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
Stir all ingredients together in a tall glass.

The Mexican Version:

This is the perfect hangover drink for the beach. It's a Mexican classic that can easily be re-created, a modified "Sangrita"
Makes 1 cocktail
  • 1/2 cup chilled tomato juice
  • 1 tablespoon clam juice
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • A few drops of Maggi or Worcestershire sauce
  • A few drops of Tabasco
  • 1 Corona (or another light beer of choice)
Mix all the ingredients in a pint glass over ice, and top with a light beer. Adjust proportions as you like.

Yum - thank you Goop
