Weekend Wrap Up
Monday, August 12, 2013
Oh man, San Francisco, I fall more in love with you everyday. One of the many things I love about this city, is that you can have zero plans, decide to go for a walk and end up having a delightful day. This is exactly what happened to us this weekend.
Friday night we stayed in with Indian food and this movie (really good), we went to bed and woke up to a day chalk full of ... zero plans. Which was actually pretty nice, I'll be traveling this coming weekend, so I was happy to have some time to chill. It was a pretty day (there was sun. sun!) so the hubs and I grabbed our books and headed toward the water. We walked to the Ferry Building for coffee and to check out the last of the farmer's market, and then continued down the Embarcadero. When we got to the America's Cup public pavilion, we decided to see what the fuss was about. We bellied up to one of the outdoor bars, got ourselves some drinks, and settled into a sunny spot and people watched for a while. Once we felt we had sufficiently taken it in, we continued on our way and eventually found ourselves on the grassy lawn in front of Ghirardelli Square, we laid in the grass and read until the typical SF summer chill caught up with us. So we were off again, making out way home - with a quick stop for an early dinner.
After regrouping with a cat nap, we headed out once more to meet up with one of our favorites couples for an evening out at a few new neighborhood hot spots (here, here, and here). Whew! Quite the day. Sunday was slower, as it's want to be. We slept in (so luxurious), then after coffee and generally pulling myself together I met up with two of my best gals for a long walk, a good chat, a little pampering, and some more coffee. Then toped it all off with a trip to Trader Joe's and sunday super with the hubs. Not too shabby.
How were all of your weekends dolls? I'd love to hear!
