Weekend Wrap Up
Monday, July 22, 2013
Since I was still getting over my cold, I stayed pretty close to home this weekend. Friday night I went out to dinner with a lovely group of girls to celebrate a new friend's 30th birthday at this fantastic Italian spot. Que brava! The next morning was beautiful, and I was feeling much better, so I got up early-ish, ran errands, and took a nice long walk.
Later that afternoon, the hubs and I headed to the Haight to meet up with a few friends. Our first stop was Hobson's Choice for a bloody mary (delish), then after a little while, someone mentioned ice cream. Random? Maybe. A good idea? Obviously! So we wandered over to the Ice Cream Bar. Amaze. I didn't even know this place existed, how could I not have know about this?! It's a super charming ice cream shop and soda fountain, like stepping back into the 1950's. They had flavors like basil and caramelized honey. I got a small scoop of the lavender lemon. And yes, it was as yummy as it sounds.
After that, the boys wanted to pop into Free Gold Watch - a screen printing shop and video arcade. Yes, those exist. You can find them in San Francisco. I played Ms. PacMan, and a few old school racing games, then I played cheerleader for a few epic rounds of Street Fighter and pin ball. The boys had found their happy place fo sho. Finally, we were able to tear them away from the games and finished up the day people watching in a park. It was a big afternoon, so we spent that night with take out Thai and an Orange is the New Black marathon. Have you seen it? What do you think?
The hubs had to work on Sunday, so I rounded out the weekend with another long walk, some iced coffee, a little shopping, and a little domesticity.
Weekends, they come and go so quickly. How were all of yours?
