Weekend Wrap-Up

The weekend was a good mix of unplanned activity and rest. It started with a fun impromptu dinner with my gal pals here (amaze), followed by a drink at this cool spot. Over dinner, we made a plan to head up to wine country the next day for a friend of a friend's party. It was one of those plans you make that you're not really sure is very solid, but lo and behold, I was on my way to Sonoma come Saturday morning.

The party was at the Envolve Winery's tasting room on the Sonoma Square. If you keep up with The Bachelor, you know that's Bachelor Ben's winery - he was actually hosting the party. It's always weird to see someone in person that you've watched on TV (they always seem shorter somehow), let alone to be served wine by them. Very surreal, and also oddly very fun. After the party, we headed to the Fremont Diner for some old fashioned BBQ (aka heaven) before heading back to the City.

Sunday was considerably more low key. The hubs and I celebrated a rainy Easter with brunch and a lazy day at home with the kitties - not something I normally indulge in (I'm usually pretty go-go-go, as you know) so it felt quite decadent to do nothing and recharge for a day. Though I have to say, it's day's like that when I really feel the distance between my family and I. It's hard to be far from them, even-though I know that San Francisco is exactly where we need to be right now. C'est la vie.
