This is one of those "ah-ha, so simple, I don't know why I didn't think of it" ideas. Next time you have an abundance of fresh herbs, either from your garden or from being overly enthusiastic with a bulk purchase, freeze the leftovers in ice trays with butter or olive oil. The next time you cook, just pop one of those bad boys in the pan and viola, seasoning with a pre-portioned serving of oil. Genius, yes?
