Did you know that beluga whales can tilt their heads up, down, and side to side at right angles - just like people? The also play like us - blowing bubbles and then chasing or swimming through them. Some scientists have called Belugas the most intelligent creatures on earth, but that large forehead isn't filled with an enormous brain - it's filled with a lump of wax, which may help them communicate.
There are around 100,000 Belugas in the wild, swimming through the Arctic Ocean and surrounding seas. They can live for decades, grow between 13ft and 20ft, and can weigh 3,000lb full grown. Babies are tiny comparatively, only 3ft-long. Fascinating, right? I'm totally smitten.
