As you know, last week I flew the coop, literally. I flew SFO -> IAD the Friday before Thanksgiving to spend the holiday week with my Dad, StepMom, StepSis, and baby nephew in Northern Virginia (just outside of Washington DC). The hubs joined on Wednesday and we stayed through Saturday.
It was a pretty low key week - time to exhale, recharge, and feast - for Thanksgiving dinner, my Dad and StepMom prepared the works! See the top photo for evidence. We had two turkeys (one BBQ-ed, and one roasted), mashed potatoes, peas, dressing, cranberry sauce, sweat potato casserole, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pecan cake, and a chocolate pie. Whew! The leftovers were insane. I almost went home with turkey and cranberry sauce stuffed in my jacket pockets.
Aside from eating, it was amazing to have some uninterrupted family time. I went on long walks with the family hound, Tucker (bottom photo), gave my nephew lot's of tummy kisses, went shopping with my sister, chatted over coffee with my StepMom, and had long late night talks with my Dad. It was exactly what I needed.
How about you loves? How was your holiday? I'd love to hear!
