Engagement Photos, do or don't?

Obviously, I think it's a do. 

Yes, you feel kinda silly (especially if you are in a public place, like we were) but it's also a lot of fun. I promise you'll cherish the photos - it's special to have professional photos done that aren't "wedding" photos, and it's a great way to get to know your photographer and build up a rapport before the big day. Our photographer, Lisa was so awesome. She made us feel completely comfortable, we had a great day, and then by the time the wedding rolled around, we felt like old friends. If you have a tight budget (like we did) not to worry - many photographers build in an engagent shoot into their wedding packages. 

I just love these photos, the first half were taken running around our neighborhood in San Francisco, and the second half were taken on our roof at the time. They are a really special snapshot of a very singular time in our lives: engaged, pre-wedding, pre-babies and everything else to come. Someday, I'll share these with our kids and say "look how young and in love we were - this is the love that created you." Someday. :-)
