Aren't these flowers gorgeous? Would you believe that they are entirely made of paper? And that they are all 23" to 36" in diameter? We'll, they are. Rad, yes?
These pretties are the creations of San Francisco based architect/artist Tiffanie Turner and are part of a show called “Heads” that is currently showing at Rare Device here in the City. I for one am still not over that fact that these are so incredibly realistic and intricate. They really are things of beauty - I wonder if my mama would prefer one of these to the traditional flowers I usually send her for Mother's Day.

Aren't these photos of expectant families touching? These haunting images were taken by Russian photographer, Jana Romanova, in the wee hours of the morning before her subjects woke. Originally, she began the series "Waiting" by photographing her pregnant friends, but soon expanded to taking the portraits of strangers as well - 40 in total, one for every week of pregnancy.
I love how raw and unguarded these images are.
Romanova's work, represented by Anzenberger Agency, is now on view at Encontros da Imagem in Braga, Portugal. An exhibition of the photos in "Waiting" is on view at Monsteiro de Tibaes - you know, if you find yourself in the neighborhood.
Are you a mommy, or expecting? How did you sleep while you were pregnant? I've been using this huge pregnancy pillow, amazing for my back and overall comfort, not so much for snuggling though.

Sadly, we don't have much more room in our apartment for art, but this beautiful piece called "malachite" from the ng collective studio has me thinking I should free up some wall space.

This isn't news. I'm sure you've all seen seen this adorable four year old who's been blazing a trail across the interwebs with her inspiring fashions.
I just can't get over the creativity, and let's face it - the cuteness. Follow this dynamo mommy daughter duo on instagram @2sisters_angie.

Longchamp spring '14
Monday, February 10, 2014
Longchamp's new spring '14 campaign video starring Alexa Chung is such a fun romp.
Set on the shores of Saint Tropez, the video evokes French New Wave film beach scenes. Chung is styled in breezy mod short coats, her signature ballet flats, with sun-kissed makeup, and effortless hair. Perhaps the perfect inspiration for spring. Longchamp's lovely pastel-hued totes and metallic clutches (I'm a big fan of their non-fussy yet sophisticated accessories - they're fantastic "pull it together" pieces) are prominently on display, but the video feels much more like a mini-film than it does an ad.

Oh man, how lovely are these mixed media pieces by Chilean artist Jose Romussi? I love the contemporary embroidery with the black and white fashion photos. These are gorgeous and girly, but also subversive. I'm loving it!

Um, can we take a moment to discuss the fact that Beyonce is a badass?
Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Beyonce released a totally secret, unpublicized self titled visual album last week. An album that just so happens to be awesome.
It goes without saying that Beyonce's voice is amazing - so listening to her is a treat in and of itself - but this album is so much more. Her lyrics explore sex, femininity, motherhood, and female stereotypes among other issues. It's even been hailed as a work of modern feminism. The track "Blow" is an incredibly catchy and fun anthem of female sexuality, but it's "Pretty Hurts" that really speaks to me - a discussion on our crippling quest for perfection and the impossible standards of "beauty" imposed on women in our culture. The track "Blue" is a beautiful tribute to her little girl, that I of coursed couldn't help but cry through. Oh, and in addition to 14 stellar tracks, she also created 17 music videos ...
Basically, Beyonce is a badass. "Nuf said.

This new clip from the Coen brothers' new movie, Inside Llewyn Davis, is all kinds of awesome. JT is a super dreamy 1960's folk star, no?

Elle Eyre is a rockin' 19 year old Brit. She's been compared to Gnarls Barkley and Adele. Not too shabby. Listen to her song "Deeper" here. She describes the track as "about an experience I had when you're with someone and they drop those three words and when they say it you don't feel the same." I dare you not to sing along.
Look out for her full album, to be released on December 10th, just in time for Christmas.
